Main Street Washington is a community and volunteer run organization that focuses on improving and maintaining the heart of Washington in our Historic Downtown. Washington was officially designated as a Main Street community in the state of Iowa in 2008. The Main Street Washington District covers 7 blocks by 6 blocks sections of downtown Washington and Central Square park. Volunteers work in a concerted effort to enhance the social, physical, and economical well-being of our Historic Downtown district.
